 Fashion Access October 2005 - Fashion Access brings the best together
Fashion Access October 2005 concluded successfully on 8 October, 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The Fair attracted 7,182 of visitors from all over the world.
Fashion Access brought together suppliers of handbags, footwear, travelware and fashion accessories from both the East and the West, who displayed their latest collections for Spring/Summer 2006.
The October fair presented 451 exhibiting companies representing 20 countries and regions. One third of the exhibitors displayed handbags and bags, 28% showed leather goods and 15% displayed footwear. Fashion accessories accounted for 8%, travelware 6%, garments 4%, components & accessories 4% and services 2%.
Eight major country/regional pavilions represented China, Hong Kong, France, Korea, The Philippines, Spain, Taiwan and Japan. The event continues to attract new exhibitors. This year, over 45 companies and organistions joined the show for the first time, from: Australia, China, Mauritius, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines and the USA. 
Best of APLF Awards
The highlight of Fashion Access was the presentation dinner at which the winners of the Best of APLF Awards were recognised. On the opening day of the fair, the judging panel toured the exhibits, selecting a short-list of products they considered outstanding in Design Excellence, Quality or Innovation. The award scheme also applauded environmentally friendly initiatives and outstanding booth design.
Fashion Show - Stepping Out in Style
An international group of exhibitors put their latest collections of bags and shoes onto the purpose-built fashion show stage at the Convention Foyer. Twelve companies from the US, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Belgium and Taiwan participated.
 Fashion Trends Lounge
Rachel Sherring, a leather goods buyer from the UK, was impressed by the Fashion Trends Lounge. "It is very useful for buyers, especially the colour trends. It is always helpful to understand the direction of fashion. I believe it is to the advantage of exhibitors to have their products included in that area, as many buyers stopped to take a close look at the display."
 Trends Seminar
Tod Schulman, Vice President of Fashion & Home, Pantone Asia Inc., and Martin Lehec, Marketing Manager of Carlin International (HK & South China), spoke at Fashion Access for the first time, to share their thoughts on future trends. Mary Yan Yan Chan, Exclusive Agent of Peclers Paris, returned to Fashion Access to give a update about the coming trends for 2006/ 2007.
Fashion Access Spring 2006
The next Fashion Access will be held from 28 to 30 March, 2006. For the October fair, it will be held from 4 to 6 October, 2006. India, one of the leading producers of leather fashion goods in the world and the source of many beautiful and exotic garments and accessories, will be the Focus Country.
There is value-added to participating in Fashion Access in 2006, as two other important and relevant fairs take place in Hong Kong at the same time. APLF - Materials, Manufacturing Technology, the most influential fair of its kind, also opens on 28 March and runs for four days. Prime Source (29 - 31 March, 2006), the networking event for the international apparel industry will be held at the new AsiaWorld Expo venue.
