In the latest collection from Japan’s Itochu Corporation the fabrics employing yarns sourced from corn fibre and lactic acid have taken their place alongside l00 per cent manmade fibre textiles.
They will now be introduced to Chinese clothing manufacturers via Itochu‘s appearance at the forthcoming Intertextile Shanghai event in October.
According to Itochu textile division executive Kishimoto Takashi, these fabrics have already proved “extremely successful” additions to the new season’s range offered to customers in Japan and for export to Europe and the USA.
