Home comforts by day and by night are the focus of attention at the 12th COMFORTEX when it comes to the new Leipzig Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 September 2003. Around 120 suppliers of decoration fabrics, curtains, blinds and awnings, floor coverings and home accessories will be at the trade fair to present their products for the home. Experts from interior design, service providers and publishing companies will also be here to meet the trade public.
For the second time, COMFORTEX includes a special forum for everything needed for a good night''s sleep, rest and relaxation: the "TraumRaum" exhibition gives retailers a chance to find out about bedding of all kinds, bedroom furniture and accessories for the bedroom and bathroom.
"For interior fitters, architects, designers and textile retailers, COMFORTEX is an essential forum to find out about the latest trends in home lifestyle and to order the relevant products", says project director Andreas Zachlod. "The need to feel comfortable at home and to enjoy a harmonious home environment is what it''s all about today - a good opportunity for this sector to transform customers'' wishes into design ideas and commercial success!"
Many market leaders are back among the exhibitors. With curtains, they include ADO Gardinenwerke, CARL ALBANI Gardinenwerk, Collection Schulte, Gustav Gerster and Wölfel & Co. Weberei-Wirkerei-Masskonfektion. Leading companies showing their latest products for the household textile sector are those such as Curt Bauer, Hermann Biederlack, H. & W. Schmänk and ROSS-Textilwerke. The waterbed presentation at COMFORTEX introduces reckertwerkstattmöbel, T.T.I. Tilmans Tradition International and PROFILE BEDSYSTEMEN, among others.
Suppliers from the Vogtland region make a strong showing again, with companies such as Plauener Gardine, Plauener Spitzenfabrikation Gustav Tegeler and Plauspitz - Plauener Spitzen und Stickereien. The User Centre in Hall 3 offers live demonstrations of the latest techniques available to interior and flooring fitters and installers.

Organised by the council EUROTEXTIL-Region for the second time at COMFORTEX, a special workshop focuses on the promotion of contacts and cooperation between home and household textile companies based in the "Five-City Linkup" of Plauen (Saxony), Guben (Brandenburg) Liberec (Czech Republic), Wroclaw and Zielona Gora (Poland). As home to around 530 small and medium companies, the region is one of the most productive textile centres anywhere in Europe. With membership from all three countries, the council has set itself the task of ensuring that companies are in shape for the pending EU enlargement. Experts in the industry expect that as from 2004, candidate countries in Eastern Europe will being additional demand for home and household textiles worth a billion euros. This would secure about 20,000 jobs. The key trade associations affiliated to the EUROTEXTIL Region Council - the Association of the North-East German Textile and Clothing Industry (VTI), ATOK Textile Association (Czech Republic) and the Association of the West Polish Textile Region - are also represented at COMFORTEX on a joint stand.

At the same time as the 12th COMFORTEX Trade Fair, the new Leipzig Exhibition Centre also hosts the 23rd CADEAUX Leipzig - Trade Fair for Gifts and Lifestyle Ideas. This is where trade visitors can add a further dimension to their overview of trends and innovations for design and decoration in the home. Suppliers of table linen, kitchen and calico print textiles as well as handwoven products can provide extra inspiration for interior designers and decorators. The "Trend Forum Enjoy" at CADEAUX Leipzig also offers a wide variety of ideas for the kitchen and table settings.
