Fabric Structures 2003 will be held Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, 2003, in conjunction with IFAI Expo 2003. The conference will feature case studies covering the benefits of using fabric as a building material, unique design elements and resources available in the fabric structures market.
Fabric Structures 2003 was organized in response to an increasing interest in using fabric in architectural structure design.
The conference will explore the benefits of using fabric as a cost-effective building material by highlighting energy savings, sustainability, economical savings, aesthetic effects, and minimizing environmental impacts.
Leading designers, architects and professionals will highlight unique design elements and proven techniques for using fabric in project planning, pre-design, architecture, material selection, construction and analysis. Several short review programs will focus on specific materials, products, applications and design components. AIA CES Learning Units will apply.
Fabric Structures 2003 will include two keynote presentations, a proceedings of case papers and handouts, a new products reception, and opportunities to visit with hundreds of leading suppliers and fabric producers on the IFAI Expo 2003 show floor.
Registered participants of Fabric Structures 2003 will receive a complimentary subscription to Fabric Architecture magazine and a directory of hundreds of fabricators, suppliers and fabric producers. The conference''s steering and technical committees will be comprised of leading architects, designers, engineers, fabricators, suppliers and American Institute of Architects (AIA) representatives. Fabric Structures 2003 is being organized by Fabric Architecture magazine in cooperation with the Lightweight Structures Association and the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association, both divisions of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI).
