Australian Wool Innovation Ltd (AWI), the Australian wool research and marketing association, has confirmed that the first ever machine washable woollen suit is available in stores in Australia and said they will look to sell the suit outside Australia in 2004.
The suit, which is made of 60 per cent wool and 40 per cent polyester, is the result of two years of research by AWI in cooperation with its commercial partner and Melbourne-based suit maker Berkeley Apparel, which designed and produced the suit. The suit is available at David Jones department stores throughout Australia.
