The meeting point of Asia and Europe, Istanbul, is getting prepared for one of the biggest fairs of the textile sector for the 13th time. ITSE (International Textile and Accessories Fair) will be organized by Ýstanbul Fuarcýlýk (ITF).

The fair will be organized with the support of TUTSIS (Textile Employers'' Union of Turkey), PTSB ( Association of Cotton Textile Industrialists), KYSD (Association of Ready-Made Secondary Industrialists) and bring foreign companies, among them very big ones and worldwide famous designers to Ýstanbul. Turkey, being one of the most important textile production centres in the world, will bring together designers and purchasing officers of international companies with Turkish producers at this fair where 2004 spring and summer collections will be presented.

Organized twice a year in March and October, the 13th meeting of ITSE (Istanbul Textile and Accessories Exhibition) will be held between 27 February-01 March 2003 and October 2003 at CNR Expo Center.

Turkish textile industry is presenting high quality products with most competitive prices and thus calling the attention of big names of world fashion scene to Turkey. Due to the latest developments in textile sector and widespread high quality production from zips to yarns, from garment to clothes hangers Turkey is today at a priviledged position for foreign companies because of demand-oriented special products besides standard production.

The textile sector in Turkey is responsible for the biggest production and export figures of the real sector. Being the seventh biggest cotton producer in the world, Turkey ranks eighth among yarn manufacturers. The biggest portion of Turkey''s textile exports goes to EU, followed by USA. With its workforce over 4 million, Turkey is among the big names of the textile sector worldwide .

Being beyond a commercial platform with its "Trend Areas" and activity meetings, ITSE will be again very influential in 2003. The companies will share their latest trends and products of 2004 spring and summer season at "Trend Areas". ITSE 2003 brings together a wide group of participants ranging from fibers and yarn producers to textile fabric producers and from knitting fabric producers to ready-made secondary industrialists.

ITSE 2002 introduces the wide and high quality production palette of Turkish textile industry which is able to meet all kinds of requests to world. Among the visitors of ITSE 2003 there are professionals from USA and Middle-Eastern countries, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, England, East Europe, North Africa and Russia. In general garment, yarn and accessory products (zip, button etc.) will be presented at the fair.

At the last meeting of ITSE in October 2002 (also organized in March 2002) the total number of visitors was 50.000 besides 5.000 professionals from 52 countries.

400 leading companies of the sector like Isko-Sanko, Güney Polgat, Bossa, Ortadogu Tekstil, Mensa, Deba Denizli Basma, Dupont, Bilkont have participated in ITSE''s October 2002 meeting.

ITSE 2003 will be held on an area of 40,000 sqms covering 3 halls. As in last year it is expected that managers, purchasing officers and designers of international companies will show great interest in March 2003 and October 2003 meeting of the fair.
