With the consolidation in the domestic market, famous Brazilian clothing brands as Zoomp, Iodice, Forum, Ellus, Osklen and Maria Bonita bet on the international fashion world.
The companies inked important contracts during the US Coterie, one of the main fashion fairs in the world, guaranteeing exports over the next seasons, which might reach US$5mil, according to the Brazilian textile industry association Abit (Associacao Brasileira da Industria Textil). The clothes exhibited in Coterie did not attract only the US shopkeepers, but also businessmen from Asia and Europe. As an example, Osklen received orders even from stores of Philippines, besides of Canada. Maria Bonita, which entered Los Angeles (US) by the beginning of the year, already trades its clothes in 12 points of sales in the country, and the next step is to reach New York. Zoomp, which already plays overseas for 2 years, entered the US market through the Coterie, by the beginning of October.
In Europe, the brand is present in Paris, Milan, Madrid and Lisbon. Besides that, it has just opened a store in Jakarta (Indonesia). Meanwhile, Iodice plays with at least 40 multi-brand stores in the US. Ellus has been playing in Chile for more than 20 years, with 2 franchises, and it has just opened further 2 units in the country. Currently, the brand is traded in the main stores of Boston, New York and Los Angeles. In Europe, it is present in Italy, France and England.
