Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) is organizing a conference for fashion and technology students on November 12.
Key industry issues such as the current role of haute couture in the global fashion scene and sourcing overseas will be among the topics to be discussed in this event.
The event will offer students an insight into the current design, technology and commercial issues facing industry professionals across the wider supply chain.
Manchester Metropolitan University will host the conference which will also include presentations on the latest innovations in fabric finishes, colour, yarn and fabric trends for Autumn/Winter 2005 and the technology of colour and quality assurance.
Chris Thierry, ASBCI student members'' committee chairman said: "This conference brings together some of the UK fashion industry’s most knowledgeable figures. They are dealing with real design, technical, commercial, financial and ethical issues every day.
"Any student contemplating a career within this diverse industry should attend this conference. It will expose them to perspectives and considerations that will be invaluable to them in their studies and later in their careers."
