2004-6-28
With dyed fabrics exports, made from textured yarns seeing an up-trend in the first four months of the year, sales to number of destinations shot up between 80% and 100% in volume terms in face of sharp differences in unit prices, according to a statistical report.
China''s exports of dyed polyester filament fabrics were up more than 62% in volume terms in the January-April period to 708,000 tons (under HS number 54075200, namely with more than 85% textured polyester yarns).
China is fast becoming a major supplier of polyester filament fabrics as it exceeded total exports for the first four months as against 12 months exports from Taiwan for 2003.
Notably sales to Iran were up 92% in the January-April period, ranking third after shipments to the U.A.E. and to Hong Kong. Another indicator that Iran''s textile and apparel industry is rapidly expanding these days.
