Garment and textile exports earned Vietnam US $2.46 billion for the past seven months this year, a year-on year increase of 9.5 percent.
Exports in these sectors will soar in the third quarter of this year, bringing in about US$430-470 million a month, the Vietnam Garment and Textiles Association forecast.
The country also grossed US$27 million from fine art handicraft exports in July, bringing the seven-month total value to US$222 million, up six percent over the same period last year.
Vietnam aims to earn between US$400 and 450 million from handicraft exports in 2004, 22 percent higher than last year.
The United States, Japan and the European Union are the major markets. |
