Turkey:EU Exports rise by 31% |

Turkey''s exports to European Union (EU) countries rose 30.9% in the first eight months of 2004.
Data from the Turkish Exporters Union indicate that EU countries accounted for $21.57 billion of Turkey''s exports from January through August of this year.
During the same period last year Turkey recorded exports of nearly $16.47 billion.
Clothing and finished textiles made up $6.1 billion of Turkey''s exports to EU countries, while the automotive industry came in second with $4.7 billion in exports. Other sectors of note include electric tools ($2.5 billion), iron and other minerals ($2.1 billion), and raw textiles ($1.7 billion). |
