Turkey:Turkey''s knit exports rise 13% in H1 |

Turkey’s knitted apparel exports has increased by 13 percent in the first six months of 2004 compared to 2003, the latest official figures from State Statistics Institute (DIE) revealed.
According to the DIE, Turkey''s total export size for knitted apparel products was US$3.6 billion in 2001, US$4.4 billion in 2002 and US$5.7 billion in 2003, respectively.
Although the economic crisis of the past three years has been particularly difficult for Turkey''s textile industry, the sector''s sales have grown on average 30 percent each year since 2002.
Total exports of knitted apparel products are expected to rise to US$7.5 billion at the end of 2004.
