Shopping tops as tourism activity in America. So, what more can be said of a national conference that takes place every year to tell retailers how to tap tourist dollars?
Waikiki will stage the 8th annual Shop America Tourism Conference during Jan. 12-14 at the Moana Surfrider Hotel. It''s sponsored by the Shop America Alliance, the only industry association devoted exclusively to marketing shopping tourism.
"Delegates will learn from the industry''s most sought-after presenters and experts, as well as case studies from leading destinations and shopping attractions," said Rosemary McCormick, president of the alliance, who added, "Honolulu is the ultimate shopping paradise!"
Doug Baker, US Commerce Undersecretary will call on, as well as Helen Marano, director of the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries. Local speakers will include Gov. Lingle and Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau CEO John Monahan. Brand Gurus and experts will deliberate and deliver here, including specialists in luxury retailing from Tiffany & Co. and Louis Vuitton/LVMH Fashion Group Hawaii. |
