Effective January 1, 2005, the Dow Emulsion Polymers business is increasing the prices of all latex sold into the carpet industry by US$0.06/lb (dry) in the United States and Canada. This price increase is being driven by increased raw material, natural gas and transportation costs. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
Dow has implemented numerous price increases on latex products in 2004 to meet increasing raw material and energy costs. However, these price increases have been unable to completely offset escalation in production costs. Dow remains committed to restoring margins for its Emulsion Polymers business.
