Pakistan:Textile quotas expiry benefits a far cry says French economist |

The country may not accrue complete benefits from textile quota expiry slated to end January 2005, said French economic ministry''s senior economist Diana Hochraich.
Addressing members at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), she said Korea, Japan and China were ahead of Pakistan as far as quality of textile products. And faltering at this, Pakistan will fail reap the desired result taking full advantage of the implementation of WTO.
She pointed out that high quality textile raw materials from the country were used by Japan and Korea to exploit and create even higher value and quality end materials, fetching enhanced selling prices.
She called on Pakistani textile industrialists to pay more attention to new technology and adopt artificial fibre. |
