Boycott against Australian wool by more retailers has been vehemently denied by Wool leaders at the National Farmers Federation, Australia.
Joining the bandwagon after Abercrombie Fitch announced wool off their shelves, Global animal rights group PETA claims the London company New Look and US retailer J. Crew have stopped stocking Australian wool products.
However, NFF President Peter Corish says, "Well again it''s a case of the PETA organisation peddling misinformation, and virtually harassing the Australian wool industry.”
"On Friday J. Crew officials were actually quoted as saying that they weren''t taking any public position on the issue, and that they were, and will continue, to sell merino wool sweaters in their stores leading up to the Christmas period in the Rockefeller Centre," sounded Corish.
There was no official word from PETA, the animal watchdog claimed J. Crew had ''begrudgingly'' joined the boycott. |
