A reviewing of garment sizing standards is set to become a priority for the Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA).
Executive Director of TFIA, Ashley Van Krieken said, “The TFIA would work with Standards Australia, retailers and other interested groups to establish how best to review the current standards.”
"The TFIA is currently talking to a range of groups and doing some work on finding a way that standards can be updated," Van Krieken said.
"I''m being told that the current standards are antiquated, out of date, and causing a lot of problems for a whole range of people in the industry from producers, retailers and manufacturers.
"This is an area the TFIA executive committee has indicated is worth exploring,” he concluded.
