USD 2.5 billion worth Christmas shopping has already been done by Norwegians in the first two weeks of Advent, but forecasts are under expectations. But better expectations remain with the business community during the last weeks of Christmas.
Even though average spending has been 1.5 times higher than last year, the season so far has been less than expected due to bad December weather.
According to figures by Kvarud Analysis for the HSH (Confederation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises), major shopping takes place in cities and towns and 3.8 billion has been used in shopping centers out of the 15.7 billion spend since the beginning of Advent.
