Indonesia:Seminar on Bali handicrafts to discuss past, present and future of the industry |

A one-day seminar and workshop titled The Future of the Balinese Handicraft Industry, at Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel on Jan. 28 to seek the right strategies in the face of global challenges and keen competition from other handicraft-producing countries.
Jointly held by the International Finance Cooperation Program for Eastern Indonesia SMEs (IFC-Pensa), the Indonesian Handicraft Association and Mitra Pengembangan Bisnis the seminar will provide vital inputs to the Balinese handicraft industry.
The seminar will bring in to limelight the present situation faced by local producers, and on domestic and global market trends and also ponder the future outlook for the industry.
Experts, designers, producers, representatives from a variety of financial institutions, small and medium enterprise consultants, transportation services and other related parties are expected to attend the seminar.
Improvement of design and quality, the procurement of raw material and marketing research for export-oriented products will be the other aspect to be looked in to during the event.
Founder of PT Out of Asia Warwick Purser, former lecturer of the Bandung Institute of Technology Fine Arts Department Surya Pernawa, design and production management consultant R. Susanto and president of PT Muevo Intersys I. Gede Bagia Arta are slated to addess the seminar. |
