Seeking advantage of that country''s growth in jobs and wool garment production, woollen topmaker Giovanni Schneider is planning to buy extra 40,000 bales of superfine Australian wool for his new venture in China.
Schneider’s JV is setting up a new woollen mill in China and its Australian Managing Director Don Belgre expects more companies to move to mainland China.
Belgre said, "We will provide wool tops to the Chinese market both from Italy and principally from China, and we''ll sell those to the spinners and weavers and ultimately garment manufacturers in China.”
"We will buying approximately 40,000 bales of Australian superfine wool directly for that mill; we''ve started that process already, the mill has started production," he added.
Giovanni Schneider mainly caters to the high-end fashion market in Europe. |
