Vietnam:Viet Tien Garment Co gets the prestigious WIPO award |

The 2004 World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) award goes to the HCM City-based Viet Tien Garment Co.
Shirts, trousers and T-shirts maker, the state-owned Viet Tien, has been also named the best-performing enterprise in Viet Nam’s garment and textile industry for 2004 by the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) and Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon of Saigon Times Group.
The annually awarded WIPO awards aim at stimulating inventive and innovative activity around the world. WIPO specially presents the award to an enterprise in Viet Nam that has new inventions and effectively uses and develops intellectual property protection in its production and business.
For the current year, Viet Tien has set revenue targets of US$216 million in exports and VND220 billion ($14 million) in domestic sales.
Vinamilk, Sai Gon Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Corp, and Biti’s Footwear, also have received the WIPO Award, according to the Viet Nam Fund for Supporting Technological Creation. |
