Bosnia and Herzegovina:Industrial production goes down while retail trade goes up in January |

Industrial production in January 2005 was down at 12.3% in relation to the average monthly production of 2004, and down 4.9% compared to January 2004, while it was less by 18.0% in relation to December 2004 reports Bosnia and Herzegovina''s Federal Office of Statistics.
Viewed according to branches of industry in January 2005 in relation to average monthly production of last year industrial production in field of Mining lowered at 14.6%, Manufacturing industry dropped at 20.1%, Electricity, gas and water supply rose by 6.4%.
Viewed according to main industrial groupings in January 2005 in relation to January 2004, increase in production was posted at durable consumer goods (index 107.7), capital goods (index 109.8), unclassified, (index 107.2), and decline was pasted at non-durable consumer goods (index 96.2), intermediate goods, except energy (index 95.5), energy (index 91.0).
Retail trade
Value of retail trade in December 2004 was 236.318 thousand KM, and represent increase for 5.8% in relation to previous month. In period 01.01.-31.12.2004 realized turnover in value at 2,447,834 thousand KM, what is more for 45.1% in relation to same period of last year. The greatest share related to other activities in amount of 87.482 thousand KM (37.0%), retail sale of fuels 28.399 thousand KM (12.0%), retail sale in non-specialized stores 69.156 thousand KM (29.3%) and other retail sale of new goods in specialized stores 29.954 thousand KM (12.7%).
Retail prices indices
The retail price indices in January 2005 in relation to the previous month rose by 1.3%.
Cost of living indices
The cost of living index in January 2005 rose by 2.0% in relation to previous month.
The index of cost for goods rose by 2.1%, and services rose by 1.8%.
The index of cost for apparel remained unchanged.
The index of cost for household furnishing less for 0.6%, hygiene and health less for 0.3%.
The index of cost of living in January 2005 rose by 2.8% in relation to average cost of living index in 2004 and in relation to same month of previous year rose by 0.4%.
Indices of producers’ prices of industrial product
The price index of producer industrial products in January 2005 rose by 0.3% in relation to previous month.
Viewed according to main industrial groupings price index intermediate goods, except energy rose by 2.8%, energy less for 0.9%, non-durable consumer goods less for 0.8%, durable consumer goods less for 0.3% and capital goods less for 0.2%.
Increase at price index was registered at manufacture of clothing; dressing and dyeing of fur for 1.3%, and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products for 0.2%.
Decline at price index was registered at manufacture of furniture by 0.6%, processing of leather, manufacture of haberdashery and footwear for 0.5%, and processing of wood and manufacture of wood except furniture for 0.4%.
The prices index of producer industrial products in January 2005 rose by 4.3%, in relation to average index in 2004 and in relation to same month of last year rose by 2.2%. |
