Brazil:Dow led consortium may give Brazil its first acrylic acid plant |

A consortium led by Dow Chemical, with Brazilian majors - Petrobras and Elekeiroz are putting up plans for setting up Brazil''s first acrylic acid unit.
With the feasibility study underway, the plant is estimated to cost over $360 million. Located adjacent to a Petrobras refinery in Minas Gerais, where the state company is installing a propylene splitter, the product acrylic acid would be used to make derivatives such as super absorbent polymers. |
