China:
Polyester staple fibre manufacturer Far Eastern Textile Shanghai (FET) has advanced the start of its 50,000 tons/y plant to May 2005. Earlier, the operations were announced to begin by the end of the current year.
Indonesia:
Voted as one of the twenty largest business organizations by Asia Week, Indorama, a leading polyester fiber maker is expected to join in a Brazilian venture.
Envisaging Real 840 million in a five-year multistage polyester fibres project in Camacari, Brazil, the venture hopes to provide 1200 jobs on completion. During the first phase of its operations costing Real 280 million, about 650 jobs are likely to be generated.
Indorama Synthetics produces premium quality raw materials, mainly polyester based, for the global textile & packaging industry, exporting primarily to Europe & North America.
China:
Leading Petrochemicals company of Shanghai, Secco Petrochemical Co has put up plans to start all its eight upstream and downstream plants.
Among these eight are 900,000 tons/y naphtha cracker (ethylene), aromatics (500,000 tonnes/y), butadiene, PE (2 units, 600,000 tonnes/y total capacity), PP (250,000 tonnes/y), styrene, acrylonitrile (260,000 tonnes/y), propylene (metathesis unit, 590,000 tonnes/y), and polystyrene unit. |
