Italy:ACMIT & ICE to hold symposia on Italian textile machinery in May at Sofia |

The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) will hold a technological symposium on Italian textile machinery in Bulgaria. Symposium will occur in Sofia (May 19-20, 2005).
At the textile technological meeting eight Italian textile machinery manufacturers (Corino, Crosta, Daroitex, Jaeggli, MCS, Obem, Siatex, Smit) will introduce their updated technologies, as well as exchanging views and ideas on technology and holding trade talks with local textile manufacturers.
Symposium is part of a promotional programme that ACIMIT and ICE have been realizing for many years in order to strengthen the links between the Italian textile technology providers and the local textile operators. It includes also some training courses for Bulgarian textile operators occurred in Italy some times ago.
The reason of this widespread information activity is because the Italian textile machinery industry pays the highest attention to Bulgarian market, where the sales of Italian machinery were about Euro 18 million in 2004. The most requested Italian machinery were spinning machines (46% of the Italian sales in Bulgaria in 2004), followed by knitting ones (21%) and weaving ones (18%).
350 Italian companies (with 25,000 employees) that in 2004 produced machinery for a value of Euro 2,900 million, pay the highest attention to the requests of the textile industry to propose new solutions of innovation, productivity, safety with the utmost satisfaction of their clients.
The quality of the Italian textile technology is testified by the high number of Countries where the Italian machinery are sold: about 125. In 2004 exports represent 76% of total sales (worth Euro 2,200 million). Asia (with a share of 40%) is the main destination for Italian sector exports, followed by other European countries extra-EU (26%), European Union (18%) and Latin America (6%). |
