The Ministry of Industry (MoI) announced that Vietnam’s garment and textile exports in July rose 11.6 percent, at US $490 million, as compared to same period, last year.
The cumulative garment and textile export for seven months reached $2.54 billion this year, up 0.2 from the same period, last year.
MoI informed of the steps undertaken to promote garment and textile exports in current year that include enhancing local and global sector cooperation, re-organization of production techniques to bring down costs and increase competitiveness, and mapping of long-term cooperation strategies with supply chain for to ensure enough input for production to be carried out.
Industry ministry also appealed to ministries and agencies to restructure administrative functions; mainly measures on licensing the US-bound exports, and to amend policy documents related to the garment and textile industry to benefit the sectors.
