Chemical major BASF is going to participate at ITMA Asia 2005 in Singapore. It will focus on innovative, eco-friendly products for textile processing.
At ITMA Asia in Singapore on October 17 - 21, 2005, BASF will be displaying innovative products and processes for textile processing that have proved their worth both economically and ecologically. “We use modern technologies to offer products with new or improved properties. This advantage in quality, efficiency and eco-friendliness enables customers to achieve a better market position”, explains Hartmut Hasse, head of Performance Chemicals for Textiles Asia.
Therefore at ITMA Asia BASF is presenting solutions for virtually every textile processing sector. The range comprises products and concepts for weaving, pretreatment, analog and digital printing, coating and finishing as well as dyeing auxiliaries. Visitors will find BASF’s ITMA Asia booth in Hall 6, Stand 6D-01.
BASF effects for a better quality of life BASF develops specially designed Lurapret textile coatings to provide such functionalities as temperature regulation, protection from moisture, and elasticity. These offer benefits for all. For example, they make outdoor clothing both long-lasting and comfortable while protecting the wearer from cold, snow, wind and sun. In addition, when applied as a flame-retardant coating to industrial and home textiles they can slow or prevent the spread of fire.
The dream of never having to iron again can also be realized with high-quality finishing products from BASF. With their aid, textile manufacturers achieve a very good crease angle, non-ironing, high dimensional stability and a particularly soft handle. BASF customers can employ the products more efficiently in manufacture, which gives them a strategic advantage over competitors.
Protecting resources and the environment Furthermore, BASF solutions help protect the environment. For example, Cyclanon XC-W, a newly launched soaping agent for reactive dyeings, improves the quality of washing off and significantly reduces the effort of producing dyeings. By considerably lessening water and energy consumption, Cyclanon XC-W protects valuable resources and slashes production costs.
BASF determines which products and processes are economically and ecologically most appropriate by means of an eco-efficiency analysis. The company is constantly developing and adapting this analytical tool to meet new requirements. One of the processes successfully tested by this analysis was the BASF size-recycling system, which both protects the environment and cuts costs. BASF’s ecologically superior pigment printing system, which achieves the brilliance, soft handle and fastness level of reactive prints, also performed very well in the eco-efficiency analysis.
