The next Texcare Asia - International Trade Fair for Modern Textile Care - will be held from 10 - 12 November 2005 at the China World Trade Centre in Beijing. Texcare Asia, which is the daughter event of the renowned Texcare in Frankfurt, has never before taken place in mainland China, having been previously held in Singapore and Hong Kong.
"We made the decision to move the show further north due to strong demand by the industry in Europe and China," explains Betty Heywood, Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt in China. "The number of commercial laundries and dry-cleaners, hotels and travel-related businesses is growing rapidly in China, and so is the demand for quality equipment. Interest in foreign-made machinery is increasing. Originally the next show was scheduled for 2006, but the industry doesn't want to wait that long to meet again in Asia."
Texcare Asia 2005 is expected to attract around 100 exhibitors showing equipment and machinery related to textile care and cleaning, including laundry and dry-cleaning machines, laundry and dyeing agents, textiles and equipment for rental services, carpet and interior cleaning products and equipment, and measuring and environmental protection systems.
The last event, 2002 in Hong Kong, attracted over 2,500 trade buyers from 41 countries, with over half the buyers coming from overseas.
"To be held in Beijing in November 2005, Texcare Asia comes at exactly the right point in time for German and international manufacturers of laundry and dry-cleaning machines," says Mr. Elgar Straub, Managing Director of the Garment and Leather Technology Group of the Association of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau - VDMA). "As a result of the rapid process of economic development, especially in densely populated areas, people are becoming more environmentally conscious. Parallel to this, there is a rapidly growing need for expertly cleaned and washed garments and linen. Accordingly, world-wide exports to China have climbed swiftly over recent years, from € 67 million in 2001 to € 99 million in 2003".
