Brand Work Conference of Textile Industry 2005 Held in Beijing

Brand Work Conference of Textile Industry 2005, hosted by Industry Consulting Department of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), was held on November 2nd to 3rd in Beijing. The conference was organized to encourage and support textile companies to do the further development on product of "China's Famous Brand", "famous Brand for Export" and "Resounded Trademark" so as to comprehensively enhance competitiveness of textile products made in China and to fulfill China's transform from the large producer to a great power of textile. Mr. Xu Kunyuan and Mr. Yang Donghui, both Vice president of CNTAC, attended the conference. Officers from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce of China, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, China Promotion Committee for Top Brand Strategy all gave presentation on how to create independent brand and to improve the sustainable development of enterprises. They also introduced the national policy on brand establishment, top brand nominating qualification and application means. In addition, other 100 experts and representatives from industrial associations and companies were present at the conference.

Mr. Xu Kunyuan, Vice president of CNTAC, analyzed the macro status of textile industry in China and came up with suggestions on how textile companies to create their own brands. He pointed out: Without mature brand strategy in domestic market, Chinese textile companies must improve their capability for development and innovation, taking the way of integrated production chain and great company with great brand for their growth. Mr. Yang Donghui, also Vice president of CNTAC, explained on why the government interfering in brand establishment with assessment: "On one hand, with the authority of government, quality products could be distinguished among various items and won customers' trusts. On the other hand, the process of brand assessment could be seen as an action of establishing brand. They are not contradicting." Mr. Yang emphasized that only when the relation between profit and compliance balanced, the established name could keep energetic. Vice director of Industry Consulting Department of CNTAC concluded the conference.
