One major garment-producing area in western China, Chongqing City is planning to build a large-scale garment complex at its Yubei district, with some 300 garment companies to move in.

The complex confirms that some 150 companies will set up there while around 100 companies from Hong Kong and Zhejiang Province have expressed their interests.

Aiming to serve such functions as research & development, production, trading and merchandising in one single premise, and provide a venue for fashion shows, the garment complex is projected to produce 100 million pieces of clothing and generate an industrial output at RMB 15 billion each year.
