Robert Gregan, CEO, comments: "Vision is to be the provider of innovative solutions for customers in the fibre industry. Two recently achieved product developments confirm this strategy.

VILOFT nonwoven
The demand for wipes increases constantly. Kelheim Fibres has developed a new product to serve a market need for flushable wipes! This innovative product will help to solve a major problem. A team around Product Manager Stefan Sulzmaier has been highly motivated to offer a solution for the nonwovens industry.

Intensive test work has shown that, during disposal, VILOFT nonwoven enhances the disintegration process of nonwoven materials. The fabric is capable of breaking up when flushed in water and fragments in the sewage system. At the same time fabrics with VILOFT nonwoven are strong enough to be stored and used when wet. This innovative product is perfectly suitable for wet wipes and has already generated a lot of interest within the nonwovens industry.

More innovations
The acrylic operation, Dolan GmbH, has also made an important step. Dolan GmbH will enter the high-tech market sector with the development of a carbon fibre product. The demand for carbon fibres is expected to increase enormously within the next few years. The Airbus A 380 is one of many examples.

"Company have just started in this area and still have to learn a lot, there is a lot of development work ahead of us. Initial trials with customer SGL have already started and prepared to invest millions into this project", said Robert Gregan.

Kelheim Fibres is about to launch another new product for the textile area. More informations on this new speciality will be provided shortly.
