According to trade statistics released by Japanese Ministry of Finance, exports and imports in all product categories increased considerably.
Figures of November 2004 revealed total exports of 5155195 million Yen, which increased to 5914746 million Yen in November 2005.
This shows an increase of 14.7 percent in exports of all products.
Import figures also show considerable growth of 16.7 percent, from 4557902 million Yen in November 2004 against 5317496 million Yen in November 2005.
Global textile exports and imports during the same period registered a 4.9 percent increase in textile yarn fabrics category at 64701 million Yen.
While in textile machinery, exports were down (-4.0 percent) at 17952 million Yen.
In terms of global imports, the country recorded growth of 5.3 percent in textile yarn fabrics at 59997 million Yen during the same period. Clothing and accessories also registered 6.4 percent increase a 216086 million Yen.
Exports
Figures for the leading markets of the world are concerned, overall, Japan recorded a fall in exports.
Exports to the US saw decline of 8.2 percent to 4439 million Yen in textile yarn fabrics, and in textile machinery also, the nation suffered a drop of 6.8 percent at 1011 million Yen in November 2005.
Exports to EU markets also presented a dark picture.
Exports decreased by 5.7 percent in textile yarn fabrics category, which stood in value terms at 4114 million Yen; textile machines also showed significant downslide of 36.5 percent at 697 million Yen during the same period.
Exports in Asia reflected two-way movement. While exports of textile yarn, fabrics showed an increase of 6.6 percent to 51921 million Yen, exports value of textile machines stood at 14670 million Yen; a decrease of 2.3 percent.
Exports to China also proved a mixed bag as textile yarn, fabrics registered an increase of 7.2 percent at 29961 million Yen and textile machines slid to 7410 million Yen at 6.0 percent drop.
Imports
Apart from EU, all other markets saw growth in imports.
Imports from the US saw an increase of 3.4 percent at 2237 million Yen in textile yarn, fabrics in November 2005. In clothing and accessories categories, Japan registered notable increase of 12.8 percent recording 2262 million Yen.
China led as exporter of textile yarn fabrics and clothing and accessories to Japan with 13.6 percent and 6.6 percent increases, respectively. Both categories reached 34509 and 183633 million Yen mark, respectively.
Imports from several other countries of Asia also witnessed increase in textile yarn, fabrics and clothing and accessories.
Japan recorded 6.6 percent growth in the imports of textile yarn, fabrics with the value of 49196 million Yen and in clothing and accessories, it witnessed 6.9 percent rise with the value of 201921 million Yen.
EU recorded decrease of 0.5 percent and 4.2 percent in the imports of textile yarn,fabrics and clothing and accessories respectively.
Import values of both categories were 7314 million Yen (textile yarn, fabrics) and 10184 million Yen (clothing and accessories).
