Certificate of Handing Over, to donate equipment and raw materials of G&C Sanata Company Inc, was signed by Minister of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation, Clement Rohee and Shen Qing, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana.
After a joint evaluation, equipment and raw materials at G&C Sanata Company Inc were handed over to Government of Guyana.
Qing said that a discussion on further trade agreements will be held in mid February between the two countries.
Trade between the two countries has been to the tune of $35 million, said Qing.
Handing over of equipment and raw materials of G&C Sanata Textiles will broadly consist of four parts, informed Winston Brassington, Executive Director of the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Ltd (NICIL).
The first part is the equipment installation, second takes care of spares, third for inventory and the fourth will look after technical aspect, he added.
Guyana will now be able to trade in textiles as it has a secure market in Caricom Single Market, which can generate revenue worth more than $8 million, said Rohee.
Foreign as well as local investors have an open invitation to operate the Sanata Textile Company, sources said. |
