Social compliance monitoring company Cal Safety Compliance Corporation (CSCC) informs CSCC, STR, and the CPDC (branch of Chinese government based in Beijing) will partner to host “Social Compliance and Supply Chain Security: Discussions and Solutions on Effective Program Management in China”, a conference being held in Shanghai on February 21, 2006.
The CPDC, or Chinese Productivity Distribution and Regional Economic Development Committee, is a widely recognized NGO registered with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a branch of the Chinese government, CPDC has the capability to extend its power, reach, and goals to government officials as well as top executives from multi-national corporations.
CPDC’s decision to co-sponsor this conference is unprecedented and marks the first time CPDC has partnered with a monitoring firm. This will be a rare chance to hear, first hand, Chinese government officials from Beijing speak on CSR issues!

The workshops, The Voice of Trade Unions in Chinese Factories, and Effectively Managing Employment Relationships and Labor Disputes, will navigate participants through the historical progression of trade unions in China (i.e. ACFTU), the role of trade unions in building positive relationships between management and workers, the consequences of labor disputes to Chinese enterprises, as well as the corporate perspective of retailers/manufacturers towards the involvement of trade unions in the resolution of labor disputes.
