The preparatory conference for the 5th session of China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) in Zhejiang province was held recently in Anji County, which signifies the start of the comprehensive preparation for the 5th CICGF.
Mr Jin Yonghui, leading member of the CICGF Organizing Committee and Vice Director of Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department, attended the conference and made some remarks. Foreign trade officials in charge from 11 municipalities in the province and CICGF department heads attended the conference.
At the conference, CICGF preparation was discussed and arrangement for the next phase was set. The 5th CICGF will be held in Ningbo from June 8 to 12, 2006 as scheduled. This national-level fair, co-sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, PRC and Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, will comply with the principle of “servicing the whole country, facing the whole world”.
It is the aim of the sponsors to further promote “made in china”, to further distinguish CICGF in terms of internationalization, professionalization, commercialization and standardization, to produce more “exquisite articles, famous brands, new products”, and to make the fair more specialized, creative, potential and effective. The fair will set up 3,000 booths, which will be divided into 5 exhibiting sections: household textiles and garments, electronics and home appliances, light industrial products, arts and crafts, foodstuffs.
About 10,000 foreign clients and 50 overseas trading groups (including 20 international purchasing chain groups), 1,500 exhibitors and more than 10,000 kinds of products will be at the fair. The exhibition spaces will be further enlarged (800 booths more than the last session), for the newly-constructed Hall 7 will be put into use by then. The exhibitors’ structure will be more reasonable and the products’ standard will be more ranking.
Vice Director Jin emphasized: firstly, confidence should be firmly established in making CICGF much larger and better, and becoming one of the country’s top brand fair. Secondly, earlier planning and arrangements should be done, to make preparation more practical.
The municipalities should extensively mobilize and organize more local brand enterprises to attend the fair. Thirdly, organize the client invitation better. More overseas clients should be invited, and more daily consumer goods trading opportunities should be created for enterprises and business people from all over the world.
China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF), approved by the State Council, co-sponsored by Ministry of Commerce P.R.C. and Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, is the international consumer goods fair with high grade and large scale held in China. |
