Central Government is working out modalities to simplify procedures for importing second hand textile machinery, said Union Minister of State for Textiles E V K S Elangovan.
Abolition of quota system in textile industry created a boom in the industry and manufacturers are facing shortage of textile machinery to execute the export orders, he observed.
Textile industry wanted Central Government to simplify procedures to import second hand textile machinery.
He assured that request for extension of Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) for the 11th Five-Year Plan is also under active consideration of the ministry.
The Centre would solve the issue of effluent treatment plant of dyers and bleachers of Tirupur, said the Minister.
State government’s contribution for financial assistance for the plants would be matched evenly by Central Government, Elangovan added. |
