China : Textile – garment trade rise almost 18% |

China Textile Industry Association revealed that the gross imports and exports of Chinese textile and apparel products amounted to US $134.63 billion in 2005, a 17.9 percent rise over 2004.
Textile trade included 9.5 percent of the country’s foreign trade.
The textile-garment exports in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Shanghai and Shangdong are all pegged at over US $10 billion, making up for almost 76 percent of the sector’s income.
The US serves as the top export destination for Chinese textile products, followed by Japan and Hong Kong SAR.
Japan, China's Taiwan and ROK are the top three sources of imported textile products.
