China : Europe put imported kids' commodities under quality scan
European countries will introduce strict quality standards for children’s commodities.
From January 17, 2007, imported goods, which come into direct contact of children’s body, will pass through stringent scanning by European countries.
These commodities include sleeping wear, recreational goods and food.
China is the biggest exporter of children’s textile and toys; therefore, this new standard will bring Chinese enterprises under pressure.
However, the government has taken some important decisions to help enterprises deal with this challenge.
