China : Dunhuang cotton obtains its own ID card |

Starting from this year, every bale of exported cotton produced in Dunhuang city will carry its own ID card, showing the ginning mill, origin, producing date, net weight and moisture rate.
All these data will be made into a bar code card attaching to each cotton bale.
The information in the bar code and the notarization of the inspected cotton quality will be put automatically into the country’s cotton quality info control system.
This step is taken to comply with international rules. With international standard cotton bale size, weight and new cotton quality criterion, it means each bale has obtained an access to the international cotton market. |
