The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) will hold two technological workshops on Italian textile machinery in Bangkok on next 14 th and 15 th December 2006 and in Dhaka on next 17th and 18th December 2006.
These workshops are the final step of a project carried out by ACIMIT and ICE whose goal is to evaluate the current state of technology in the finishing sector in Thailandia and in Bangladesh, highlighting the installed production capacity and remarking the strengths and weknesses of the sector. To this end an Italian expert in the finishing sector, delegated by ACIMIT and ICE, visited some local companies. Subsequently a general report on the finishing sector in the two Countries and a specific report for each company visited on the state-of-the-art of its production capacities were realized.
During the workshops the Italian expert will present to the local manufacturers the results elaborated from the information gathered during the before mentioned visits. Some Italian manufacturers of textile machinery for finishing process (Arioli, Biancalani, Corino, HTP Unitex, Laip, Maino International, MCS and Unitech) will also participate at these workshops, singled out on the basis of their capacity to provide concrete answers to the needs of the local companies.
The workshops are part of a promotional program that ACIMIT and ICE have been realizing for many years in order to strengthen the links between Italian textile technology providers and the local textile operators.
300 Italian companies (with 22,000 employees) that in 2005 produced machinery for a value of Euro 2,500 million, pay the highest attention to the requests of the textile industry to propose new solutions of innovation, productivity, safety with the utmost satisfaction of their clients.
The quality of the Italian textile technology is testified by the high number of Countries where the Italian machinery are sold: about 130. In 2005 exports represent about 79% of total sales (worth Euro 2,000 million). Asia (with a share of 42%) is the main destination for Italian sector exports, followed by other European countries extra-EU (21%), European Union (19%), Latin America (7%) and North America (6%).
