In order to organize thousands of greige fabric samples into proper categories, Zhejiang Jianglong Textile Printing & Dyeing Co Ltd recently announced that it would set up the first ever greige fabric supermarket in the country.

To be constructed at a cost of 100 million yuan, the supermarket is expected to pump up sale of greige fabric to 7.5 billion yuan by 2008.

The hub will remove the various bottlenecks that local textile enterprises face after receiving an order. Due to the numerous varieties of greige fabrics, it becomes difficult to find the exact match of the client's sample from the thousands of greige fabrics.

As a result, around 20 of the allotted 30-40 days of delivery time gets wasted in looking for the right variety. Therefore, many textile companies have welcomed the idea of a supermarket as it will relatively ease this process.

According to statistics, there are about 600 greige fabric manufacturers in Shaoxing city and over a 1,000 greige fabric manufacturers in Wujiang city of Jiangsu Province.
