On August 31, MBA professors and executives delegation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and had a frank and friendly discussion on the development of China's textile industry and the impact on the United States economy.
CNTAC News Center, China's textile director of the Center for Economic Research, Sun Huaibin, as the special guest speaker introduced to the United States Rensselaer Polytechnic professor and executive MBA on China's textile history, the development of the textile industry, the future prospects and the international trade in textile industry. The meeting was held by China Textile Planning Institute of Construction .
According to Mr.Sun Huaibin, upon satisfying domestic demand and increasing employment, the textile industry relates with people’s basic living since the foundation of new China. In the past 10 years, as the huge domestic market demand was playing the leading role, China's textile industry was undergoing an unprecedented development, improving the domestic investment environment. The relatively low labor and raw material advantages attracted a lot of private capital, foreign capital into China's textile industry. In China, the capital structure of the textile industry accounting 33% of foreign capital, about 60% of domestic private capital, and state-owned capital accounts for only 6%. Over 20 million people are working inside this trade. .
When being asked by the executives from United States on the problem of protection of the environment, so said Mr. Sun Huaibin, CNTAC has been very concerned about the development of China's textile industry in face of environmental problems and how can textile industry promote social responsibility system. CNTAC has been working hard on the introduction of new technologies, new processes in the t production process for cleaner production, more energy saving, and more environmental protection.
Turning to the direction for future development of textile industry in China, Mr.Sun Huaibin said: increasing investment in research and development to enhance value-added textile products, creating brands and promoting China's textile industry is a comprehensive upgrade of China's textile industry direction for future development.

Geffrey Durgee professor told the author, after returning to the United States he would start to study how China's textile and garment enterprises can spread successful brand management, marketing, and other sensitive issues and look forwards to more in-depth discussion and research cooperation with China Textile Planning Institute of Construction .
