Three top international designers from Lebanon, India and Pakistan will present their latest designs in Oomph ''03, a mega fashion show scheduled to be held in Dubai later this year. Walid Atallah from Lebanon, Shaahid Amir from India and Beejee from Pakistan will participate in the show to be held on October 21 at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.
Celebrities and top models will walk the ramp, officials of Pegasus Holdings LLC, the organiser of the show, announced in a press conference at the Jimmy Dix theme club in Holiday Inn, Bur Dubai.
The fashion show, in aid of Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, Dubai, will feature Indian actors Fardeen Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Manisha Koirala, Diya Mirza, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Rakesh Bapat, Suman Ranganathan.
Pakistani stars Nirma, Iraj, Gia Ali, Natasha and Amna Haq will also take part in the show. Billed as a world class high technology production along with exclusive stage and set design, Oomph ''03 promises to start a new trend.
Atallah, a graduate of fashion design from Chicago University in the U.S., has held many shows in Beirut, Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Paris and Italy. He is famous for his exclusive formalwear, including a jewel studded wedding gown.
Amir has designed for top Indian film stars like Aamir Khan, Arjun Rampal, Manisha Koirala and Vivek Oberoi. Having studied at the City College of Fashion, London, Amir has been successfully designing clothes in his 12-year-old career.
Beejee began her career 20 years and has won more than 400 awards since. These include the National Award from the government of Pakistan in 2001 and the top prize in the Bride and Groom show in Delhi, India. She has recently begun focussing on bridalwear.
