Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi has constituted a Task Force comprising representative of textile industry and concerned ministries to facilitate textile industry to become complaint to WTO related labour, social, health and environmental issues.

To complete the amendment in the regulatory frame work the Task Force was directed to complete the work within one month.

The Minister took the decision while presiding over the 8th meeting of Federal Textile Board held here today in the Ministry.

The Minister said that industry should has to prepare itself for the new opportunities and challenges by developing competitiveness and by adopting standards, and becoming complaint to WTO norms.

The Government would help and facilitate the industry by reducing cost of doing business, developing business, friendly environment, required infrastructure and amendments in regulations.

Recent measures for Cleaner cotton production, Tariff rationalization, Reduction in mark-up rate and successful negotiations for market access has been supportive to industry.
