India : Grasim to Focus on Retail Sector |

Grasim Suiting, the Rs 300-crore textile division of Grasim Industries of Aditya Birla Group, will give special thrust on the retail sector, a company official said on Saturday.
The executive-president (apparels and fabrics) of Grasim Suitings division, S Krishamoorthy, told reporters that the 70 per cent of the company''s products were being sold through the retail channel, while the balance was being exported.
The focus of the company would now be on the domestic market, Krishnamoorthy said after the opening of the ‘Persona'' signage store in the metropolis, the second one in the country.
Speaking about market share, he said that the largest market for the company was eastern and southern India, followed by the north and west. The official said that the company was expecting a growth of 20 per cent in its apparels business.
Krishmoorthy said that Grasim planned to open more signage stores in the country.
The store design has been conceptualised by Jean Claude Panighetti of Italy.
